Bilingual alt-rock trio CHROMA announce debut album ‘Ask For Angela’

Welsh alt-rock trio CHROMA are delighted to announce their debut album Ask For Angela which is set for release on 20 October via Alcopop! Records.

The album takes its name from the campaign of the same name launched to prevent sexual assault in the UK. The material on the album reflects on the band's collective experience growing up in the South Wales Valleys, and explores the myriad lived experiences of young women.

Ask For Angela was produced and mixed by Steffan Pringle at Giant Wafer Studios in Llanbadarn Fynydd, Wales. It was then mastered by Tom Langrish at E1 Mastering in London.

CHROMA says about Ask For Angela:

"It brings us such joy to announce that our debut album Ask For Angela is finally being released to the world this October. After a few long gruelling years of waiting for the right time, at least it finally feels right that we put our first baby out for the world to see and hear. This album takes us in a direction that we as a band feel as if it affirms the sound that we've always wanted to create, and with thanks to Steffan Pringle and Tom E1 Mastering and Duplication, they've helped bring these songs to life. Ask For Angela is no longer just ours, but it's yours, now and forever. We hope you find as much joy in this record as it was for us to create.”

The band are celebrating the news by revealing the video for their new single “Don't Wanna Go Out”, recorded in both English and Welsh language versions on a special AA side version.

The single is about the perpetual motions that a person goes through when being invited to go out and see friends when you don't really want to. That FOMO that forces you out of your living room as you don't want to miss out on a good night, even if you're anxious to go, a little too tired or just aren't feeling it.

CHROMA have been gaining momentum in recent months, with support slots at SXSW Festival, FOCUS Wales, and a support slot with The Mysterines. They were also recently hand-picked to support legendary US rockers Foo Fighters at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester on 15th June 2024 alongside Courtney Barnett.
