MJ Lenderman releases new single "Knockin"

Singer-songwriter MJ Lenderman is back with his latest single, "Knockin." This marks his second release under ANTI- Records, showcasing his unique musical storytelling. "Knockin" has become a favorite in MJ Lenderman’s live sets, known for its electrifying energy and memorable chorus. Originally from a self-recorded EP, this reimagined version was captured at Drop of Sun Studios, adding new dimensions while staying true to its essence.

In his own words, MJ Lenderman shares his inspiration for "Knockin".

"I was spending a lot of time watching John Daly videos and came across a rendition he does of Dylan’s ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.’ Daly’s version includes an extra verse about golfing. My ‘Knockin’ became a staple of the MJ Lenderman & The Wind live set and it felt like a good idea to re-record it professionally."

Known for his distinct blend of warped pedal steels, scuzzy guitars, and a voice that resonates with raw emotion, MJ Lenderman’s music weaves tales of everyday life into poetic songs. His lyrics capture the mundane and the profound, from relationships to chance encounters. With a unique ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, MJ Lenderman’s music has garnered praise from both fans and critics alike.

"Knockin" will be included on a forthcoming 7-inch single alongside previous release “Ruldolph”, which is available for pre-order now and expected to be released later this Autumn.

The single release is a preview of what's to come from MJ Lenderman, who has been making waves in the music scene with his distinct sound and evocative storytelling. As his journey with ANTI- Records unfolds, fans can expect more exceptional music from this talented artist.
