Spanish Love Songs release new single, "Marvel"

The wait is nearly over for fans of Spanish Love Songs as they release their pulsating new song "Marvel." This track serves as the last sneak peek before their exciting album No Joy comes out on August 25 via Pure Noise.

Spanish Love Songs' Dylan Slocum says of the new track:

"Marvel is the backbone of the album thematically," says vocalist and guitarist Dylan Slocum. "It was written for a friend, and the chorus was a throwaway joke that has just sort of stuck. It's probably the most positive song I've ever written, and a response to every complaint I've ever lodged in other songs."

Brimming with new wave pastiche, ethereal synths, cascading walls of chorus driven guitars, and hammering rhythms, No Joy represents an evolution for the band. As Slocum describes, it's not just a sequel to the emotional release of their previous album, but rather an exhalation — an embrace of moments of tranquility and the beauty of negative space.

While Brave Faces Everyone encapsulated the struggle to maintain equilibrium in an increasingly bleak world, No Joy delves into the realm of internal peace. Slocum explains, "it's an album about finding happiness in what you have and your current moment. It might be your best moment, or it might not, but you have to find joy in it."
