Bloom sign to Pure Noise Records and release new single "Bound to Your Whispers"

Sydney melodic metalcore band Bloom have announced their signing to Pure Noise Records. To celebrate the announcement, the band has released their new single, "Bound to Your Whispers", along with an accompanying music video.

"Bound to Your Whispers" is a heavy and emotional track that explores the internal struggles of dealing with anxiety and self-doubt. The song is written as a dialogue between two voices, one representing the protagonist's rational thoughts and the other representing their negative thoughts.

The song begins with the protagonist feeling lost and alone, begging for an escape from their own mind. The negative voice then appears, offering to help them and relieve their fears. The protagonist initially accepts the negative voice's help, but they soon realize that it is not what they need. The negative voice begins to manipulate them and turn them against themselves, confirming their fears and making them feel like they are alone.

The song ends with the protagonist feeling trapped and consumed by their anxiety. They realize that they have let the negative voice take control, and they are now bound to its whispers.

Speaking about the new single the band said:

“Bound to Your Whispers is an exploration of internal disparity and the disconnect between internal doubts, and the manipulation of one's self.

Written as dialogue between the two internal voices, the protagonist is manipulated by their own thoughts, falling into a false sense of security "let me in, and I'll relieve your fears... could this be everything I need?". What is initially perceived as a voice of reason, sheltering the protagonist ("I'll keep you safe, distract you from all your pain") gives comfort to the protagonist that they can deal with their anxieties themselves 'don't reach out, you don't need help'. This false sense begins to unravel, wearing the protagonist down by forcing them to relive mistakes and planting seeds of doubt, revealing itself as a trap as it gains control of the internal struggle. 'You let me in, and I confirmed your fears'.

This internal dialogue convinces the protagonist that there is no way he can exist without the anxiety that has followed him throughout the years, and he gives in, allowing himself to be consumed. 'Bound to your whispers, under your spell. I have nothing left in me'.”

The music video for "Bound to Your Whispers" is a powerful and haunting visualization of the song's lyrics. The video features the band performing the song in a dark and desolate warehouse, while the protagonist is trapped in a cage, surrounded by their negative thoughts.

Bloom formed in 2017 and has released two EPs, 2018's Bloom and 2020's In Passing. Bloom are known for their heavy and emotional music, which explores themes such as broken relationships, grief, and mental health.

Bloom are no strangers to hardship. They released their sophomore EP, In Passing, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they wrote and recorded their next release entirely remotely. Despite the challenges they have faced, Bloom have remained determined to make music and share it with the world.

Bloom's signing to Pure Noise Records is a major milestone for the band. Pure Noise Records is home to some of the biggest names in melodic metalcore. With their signing to Pure Noise Records, Bloom are poised to reach a wider audience and take their music to the next level.
