Slow Pulp share new single “Broadview”

Chicago-based quartet Slow Pulp, have released their latest single, “Broadview”, from their highly anticipated album Yard, set to be released on 29 September via ANTI-.

The song showcases Emily Massey's soaring vocals as it delves into themes of love and vulnerability. “Broadview” offers a weepy Americana ballad vibe, with touches of pedal steel and harmonica, creating a captivating musical journey. The accompanying visualizer, crafted by Melanie Kleid, perfectly captures the essence of late-night summer romance.

Vocalist Emily Massey describes the song:

"This song is about letting yourself fall in love for the first time in a long time. After being hurt in previous relationships I was trying to decide if making the jump was worth it. Turns out it was."

“Broadview” joins the impressive lineup of singles from Yard, including the electric “Cramps”, lead single “Slugs”, and the anthemic “Doubt”. Slow Pulp are set to embark on a comprehensive tour in support of the album, with their UK dates already garnering significant attention, leading to upgraded venues. The enchanting mix of dreamy rock and introspective themes within Yard showcases Slow Pulp’s growth and mastery in creating a bigger sound. Through various sonic landscapes, the album tackles concepts of isolation, self-acceptance, and the importance of trust and connection.

Throughout Yard, Slow Pulp maintained a consistent thread of collaboration and trust among their members. The band's creative process, exemplified by Massey recording vocals with her father Michael in their home studio, captures a raw and genuine essence. This familial collaboration allows for honesty and directness, leading to the best possible artistic outcomes. The album's nuanced blend of music and lyrics encapsulates complex emotions, creating a deeply relatable and unique experience for listeners.

As the album release approaches, Slow Pulp continues to captivate audiences with their innovative sound and deeply introspective lyrics. The band's UK/EU tour in November and December will provide a platform for fans to experience their enchanting music live.
