Special preview: The Lonely Surf premiere new single, “12 Months Out”

We’re thrilled to share an exclusive early preview of12 Months Out”, the new single from south coast indie punks, The Lonely Surf. Officially out this Friday 11 August via Disconnect Disconnect Records.

Since releasing their EP Shifting in 2020, The Lonely Surf are preparing to release their strongest material to date. Comprising of founding singer songwriters, Dom Wright and Matt Gibbons, alongside the returning George Fullerton on the drums and new recruit Daniel Mundy on bass, the band are set for a huge year.

The first of their new material to release, “12 Months Out” boasts instantly memorable lyricism, soaring guitar melodies, an infectious chorus and playful indie beats.

Speaking on the track, frontman Dom Wright said:

“12 Months Out is about taking time out to reflect on tough situations and realising that you’re stuck in a cycle, doing things that aren’t helping you and not looking after yourself. It’s about ultimately letting go of things that you hold close and coming out the other side with a fresh perspective.”

Citing influences of The Menzingers, The Wombats and Bruce Springsteen, we think The Lonely Surf will be a quick favourite for fans of The View, All-American Rejects and early The Maine.
