Episode 36

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was another absolute banger. We had an incredible lineup of bands and artists that made for a perfect night of music.

I opened the show with our hour-one headliner “Eternal” the brilliant new banger from Sweet Pill who will be dropping their brand new EP Starchild on the legendary Hopeless Records next month, followed by "Waterworks" by House Parties, and "Spiders” by ME REX.

I then played a pair of tracks by artists who dropped amazing debut albums this week “Get Numb To It!” By Friko and “My Funeral” by Crawlers.

Next, I spun “Boys In The 90s” by gürl, “No Father” by Neversaid, and “Absolute Bloom” by Higher Power.

For our first unsigned spotlight of the night, it was Noah Steiner with “I’m Not Having Fun” the title track of Noah’s latest self-released EP.

After that, I turned up the noise with “A Guilty Conscience Needs An Accuser” by Shooting Daggers, “Workaround” by Shoreline, and “backfire” by thrown

I then kept the bangers coming with "Alpha Beta Sigma" by CHERYM and "Abortion” by The Menstrual Cramps.

Then it was the turn for "Legendary Tippers" by Les Savy Fav, and "Tarpaulin” by Grieving.

I closed out the first hour with Hey Violet’s latest single and anti-Valentine’s Day anthem “Uncomplicated”.

Our second hour kicked off with the brand single “Beaucoup” from American Football frontperson Mike Kinsella’s solo project Owen, followed by "The Great Overgrowth (Ft. Cal Hudson)" by SUDS, and "I’m Not the Boy” by Frontier Ruckus.

I then played "Gift Horse" by IDLES and "DUST OFF / START AGAIN” by BIG SPECIAL.

Next, I took everything down a power-pop rabbit hole by playing "Misery Scene" by Capstan and "Things That Look Like Mistakes” by Bears In Trees.

For the second unsigned spotlight of the night, I played “Sky Blue Happiness” by 2079 if you find yourself in Nottingham on the 8 March they will be opening for Whisky Stain at Rocky City Beta.

After that, I unleashed this week’s virtual mosh pit with "FSU" by Mimi Barks, "EDDY" by TELLTALE, and "Burning Inside” by Electron.

I then played "Plagiarism" by Heavy Lungs and "Medicate” by The Zebecks.

I slowed things down with "Corduroy" by Memorial and "Addictions” by YOVA.

Finally, I closed out the show with the beautiful "An Embroidery” by Clarissa Conelly which can be found on Clarrisa’s forthcoming album WORLD OF WORK out this April.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to last night’s episode of The Scene! I'll be back next week with more great alt-scene music.
