Episode 37

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was a complete banger and featured an incredible lineup of artists.

I opened the show with our hour-one headliner “You Killed It” the brilliant new banger from Italian/Punjabi sister duo Baby Said followed by “Uncomplicated” by Hey Violet, and "Boys In The 90s” by gürl.

I then played a pair of absolutely massive punk bangers, “God’s Country” the rage-filled rant on modern Britain by Lambrini Girls and “Crawl Space” by friends of the show Filth is Eternal

Next, I spun "Falls Apart” by Middleman, “Birds Talk Too” by Laura Jane Grace, and “Ride Around” by Goat Girl.

For our first unsigned spotlight of the night Bath’s Ignotis with “My Mind”. Ignotis will be playing at Komedia in Bath’s Free Community Festival on 29th March.

After that, I kept the mood going with “Charlie Sheen (Ft. Point North)” by Felicity, “Jump Ship” by Fortune Teller, and “Workaround” by Shoreline.

I then span with "The Watcher” by EVERY HELL and “Hot Chocolate” by Bears in Trees.

Then it was the turn for  "Scrapbook” by Gaffa Tape Sandy, “Eternal” By Sweet Pill and “Mayfly” by Binboy the solo project of Shit Present’s Thom Weeks, Mayfly can be found on his new album Ernst Stavros Blofeld which came out earlier in the week.

I closed out the first hour with "Beaucoup” the lead single from Owen’s forthcoming album The Falls Of Sioux which drops in April.

As it was Kelly’s birthday yesterday the second hour of the show was full of artists that she loves. I kicked things off with “Football” by Youth Lagoon an artist that Kelly grew up with in the Boise scene many moons ago, followed by "Blockbuster” by KC Rae, and  “I Don't Hate You” by Slow Joy.

I then played "A Guilty Conscience Needs An Accuser” by Shooting Daggers and “DESTROYER” by M.A.G.S.

Next, I played two of Kelly’s from last year “Make Less Babies” by The Guru Guru and “Said And Done” by Haunt The Woods.

For the second unsigned spotlight of the night, I played “The Laughter” by Lawi Anywar. Lawi is playing Bristol’s Reverie Fest on 29th March we are heading out to Reverie so keep your eyes peeled to The Scene for more news on that.

After that, I turned the volume up to 11 as I unleashed this week’s virtual mosh pit as I spun “Mitsuko” by Lake Malice, “Trauma Euphoria” by Vexed, and “Filfy” by BEX.

I then played "Crave” by Paramore and “Blame” by The Maine.

I span a pair of tracks from Norwhich-based bands that are signed to one of our fave labels Big Scary Monsters. In the shape of “Changing” by SUDS and “Midnight Vistors” by Other Half.

Finally, I closed out the show with the breathtaking “The Rats and the Children” by the Norwegian duo Aiming For Enrike. “The Rats and the Children” can be found on Aiming For Enrike’s most recent album Empty Airports.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to last night’s episode of The Scene! I'll be back next week with more great alt-scene music.
