Episode 61: ArcTanGent Special

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was our ArcTanGent special show featuring the likes of Bicurious, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Orchards, FORT, and Blood Comand.

I opened the show with “Blood Red Camry Dance Party” a track from one of my fave EPs of the year Kaonashi’s brilliant new EP A Second Chance At Forever: The Brilliant Lies From Casey Diamond. Following “Blood Red Camry Dance Party” by Kaonashi, the first half of the show showcased tunes from unpeople, Julie Christmas, Every Hell, Kulk, and the beautiful slice of Post Rock that is “Downpour” by Din of Celestial Birds. Before the news break, I wrapped up the first half with the absolutely brilliant “Any Joy” by And So I Watch You From Afar. “Any Joy” comes from the bands new album Megafuna which they played in its whole last night at ArcTanGent.

Post-news break, I resumed with the brilliant slice of chaotic noisy punky goodness “Writing Out A List Of All The Names Of God” by Thank. The Leeds-based band just recently announced their singing to the mighty Big Scary Monsters. After “Writing Out A List Of All The Names Of God” by Thank the second half of the show packed the punches with tracks from Sans Friod, Teeth Of The Sea, Brontide, BO NNIGEN, and the absolutely epic “Sytem 0” by Norwegian duo Aiming For Enrike. Wrapping up this week's show was the beautiful “Our Breath In Winter” by one of our collective favourite bands of all time Caspian. “Our Breath In Winter” comes from Capsian’s legendary debut album 2007’s The Four Trees. Kelly sat down with Phil and Jonny from the band so keep your eyes peeled for that interview to drop. Big thanks to all who tuned in to last night’s episode of The Scene!
