Fangclub return with raw and distorted single "Attention"

Irish alt-rockers Fangclub make a triumphant comeback with their latest single, "Attention." The track marks their first release since their critically acclaimed album Vulture Culture in 2019, showcasing a renewed energy and intensity.

Describing the evolution of "Attention," Fangclub's vocalist Steven King reveals:

“Originally 'Attention' was more of a delicate Elliott Smith type song. I was listening to a lot of Heatmiser, Elliott Smith, PJ Harvey, Soulwax, Placebo. We gave it a louder life with the guitars and drums. It has more of a burnt quality to it now. The performance is a bit more raw. It's following the usual pattern but now the pattern is distorted or blurred. As far as a meaning to the song, I don't want to ruin any possible meaning that a fan might get themselves from it. It's more of a feeling for me. Like that feeling you get when you're about to go asleep and you suddenly jump. The first few lines are as direct as I can be. Or maybe it's just a rock song.”

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Fangclub continues to embrace their DIY ethos that has defined their career. Their self-titled debut album soared to #5 in the official Irish album chart upon its release in 2017.

With their fuzz-laden sophomore album Vulture Culture, Fangclub solidified their position in the rock scene. The album propelled the band to new heights, landing them coveted spots alongside Metallica at Slane Castle and The Smashing Pumpkins across Europe. The band also celebrated sold-out headline shows in Dublin and London.

As Fangclub returns with "Attention," they bring with them a renewed sense of vigour and passion, poised to captivate audiences once again with their raw and unapologetic sound.
