Taking Meds share new single “The Other End” ahead of the release of new album ‘Dial M For Meds’ on Friday

Taking Meds have shared their latest single, “The Other End” ahead of the release of their eagerly awaited album, Dial M For Meds, on 1 September via Smartpunk Records.

“The Other End” gives listeners a taste of the blend of college rock hooks and post-hardcore energy that defines Taking Meds’ new album Dial M For Meds.

Produced and recorded at God City Studios with Kurt Ballou, Dial M For Meds promises to showcase Taking Meds at the top of their game. The album artfully merges their post-hardcore roots with catchy college rock melodies. “The Other End” follows the earlier releases of “Outside”, “Memory Lane”, and “Life Support” each earning praise from music publications and fans alike.

Discussing “The Other End” vocalist-guitarist Skylar Sarkis said:

"It was one of the first songs we wrote for this record. I've had the chorus melody in my head for a couple years. I'm really glad it came together the way it did. One of the main themes in this song is mundanity. When you have a vision for how something should go, or even how your entire life should go, it's always going to get filtered through reality and come out looking pretty different. There is, of course, something wonderful about that, but this song talks about about how disappointing and empty that can feel."

Taking Meds, formed in 2013, has cultivated a unique musical identity that defies categorization. Their ability to blend mathy emo with '90s rock sensibilities sets them apart. On Dial M For Meds, the band channels their creativity into crafting accessible, memorable tracks while maintaining the raw energy characteristic of their post-hardcore origins. Their '90s-inspired sound serves as an ideal canvas for Sarkis' candid lyrics, which offer humorous and insightful commentary on the pursuit of creative highs in adulthood.
