Episode 31
Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was jam-packed with some of the very best that alt music has to offer. We had an incredible lineup of bands and artists that kept the radio pumping for two hours.
I opened the show with our hour-one headliners Bob Vylan with their massive new single "Hunger Games" which comes from their forthcoming new album Humble As The Sun, followed by "Look Alive (Netic)" by Oxymorrons, and "Those Days” by The Chisel.
I then kept the bangers coming by playing "notes app apologies" by cheerbleederz, “Midlife Crisis” by House Parties, and "Life I’m Living In” by Just Friends.
Next, I spun "Kids Wanna Dance" by Gen and the Degenerates, "Do It Faster" by Militarie Gun, and "Cherish” by Filth Is Eternal.
For our first unsigned spotlight of the night FARSIGHT the metalcore band from New York with "Exhume".
After that, I played some of my absolute fave current bangers "Freckle" by SUDS, "Infinity Worm" by ME REX, and "Emotionally Unclean” by Toodles & The Hectic Pity.
I then played a trio of emo-ish tracks "Voice In Your Head" by Shit Present “A Touch Of Hell” by Sincere Engineer and "I Don’t Hate You” by Slow Joy.
Then it was the turn for "Grace" by IDLES and "Midnight Vistors” by Other Half.
I closed out the first hour with "Strange Neighbour” by The Folly Group which can be found on the band’s new album Down There! which came out on Friday.
Our second hour kicked off with our hour two headliner You Lagoon with their absolutely amazing new single “Football”, followed by "u come near" by bby and "Bathroom Floor” by KC Rae.
I then played "Palpiations" by Felicette and "Disenchanted” by PAWS.
Next, I turned up the volume by playing "Who Do We Not Save" by Problem Patterns, “Potential” by Proper., and "Fall Apart” by Church Girls.
For the second unsigned spotlight of the night, I played “EMPTY DREAM” the debut single from Brighton’s SPOOKY HUGE.
After that, played a trio of pop-punk bangers in the form of "3 DAY HEADACHE" by NOAHFINNCE, "It’s Not Me, It’s You" by CHERYM, and "Take Me With You” by Neck Deep.
I then played "AI (Save Yourself)" by Kid Bookie, “Fallout” by Sleep Theory, and "Meat Magnet (feat. Barney Greenway)” by Escuela Grind.
I kept the volume turned up to eleven with "Bite Through My Tongue" by Casey and "Tarpaulin” by Grieving.
Finally, I closed out the show with the beautiful "Beauty Opens Doors” by Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek.
Thanks to everyone who tuned in to last night’s episode of The Scene! I'll be back next week with more great alt-scene music.
