Episode 32

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was an adventure through the world of alt music. Our incredible lineup of bands and artists kept the radio rocking for two hours for alty goodness.

I opened the show with our hour-one headliners Issues with their farewell single "Since I Lost You”, followed by "i don't play with love" by Jarki Monno, and "u come near” by bby.

Things got a bit punk as I played "Body Politics" by The Menstrual Cramps and "Kids Wanna Dance” by Gen and the Degenerates.

Next, I spun "Emotionally Unclean" by Toodles & The Hectic Pity and "Freckle” by SUDS.

Our first unsigned spotlight of the night was Death Metal by the excellent Norwhich-based singer-songwriter Kitty Perrin.

After that, I kept the massive bangers coming with "Football" by Youth Lagoon, "Friend Of A Friend" by The Smile, and "Blockbuster” by KC Rae.

Things got even more tasty with "Gift Horse" by IDLES and "Hi, Hello” by Other Half.

Then it was the turn for "Girls Talk" by CHROMA and "Giant Giant Giant” by ME REX.

I closed out the first hour with "Shootback” by Norwich-based country rockers Brown Horse who dropped their debut album Reservoir on Friday

Our second hour kicked off with our hour two headliners House Parties with “Midlife Crisis” getting the second half of the show off in pop-punk style, followed by "It's Not Me, It's You" by CHERYM and "Chewing The Scenery” by SeeYouSpaceCowboy.

I then played "Take Me With You" by Neck Deep and "3 DAY HEADACHE” by NOAHFINNCE.

Next, I kept the tunes coming by playing "Reviver " by Shoreline, "Earthside” by Tree River, and “to me” by Pinkshift.

For the second unsigned spotlight of the night, I played “The Laughter” by Lawi Anywar we have been obsessed with Lawi ever since coming across him at last year’s ATG festival.

After that, I got the virtual moshpit going with "Losing My Grip (feat. Jason Aalon Butler of Fever 333)" by Enter Shikari, "AI (Save Yourself)" by Kid Bookie, and "Anxious State Of Mind” by DREAM STATE.

I then played "Cancer Culture" by Post Profit and "Pressure Me” by friends of the show Filth is Eternal.

I played a pair of punk bangers in the shape of "Hunger Games" by Bob Vylan and "DOUBT” by Jeff Rosenstock.

Finally, I closed out the show with the beautiful "Circles” by Brighton-based post-punk-inspired trio CIEL.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to last night’s episode of The Scene! I'll be back next week with more great alt-scene music.
