Episode 33

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was another absolute banger. We had an incredible lineup of bands and artists that showcased the very best of the current alt scene.

I opened the show with our hour-one headliners Just Friends with "Love Bug" a beautiful deep cut from their current album Gusher, followed by "Waterworks" by House Parties, and "A Touch of Hell” by Sincere Engineer.

Things got a bit angular and noisy as I played "Gift Horse" by IDLES and "Starting and Staring” by Gustaf.

Next, I spun "Death Meta" by Kitty Perrin and "Freckle” by SUDS.

For our first unsigned spotlight of the night, I played Escape The Box’s complete headbanger “Smoke”.

After that, I got a little bit selfish and played "Baby, Does Your Heart Sink?" by Martha, "Romance Is Boring (Princess Version)" by Los Campesinos!, and "Eutherians (Ultramarine)” by ME REX.

I things got a little tasty with "Never Did Come Back" by Van Houten and "Where We've Been” by Friko.

Then it was the turn for "Football" by Youth Lagoon and "Friend Of A Friend” by The Smile.

I closed out the first hour with Bristol’s The Menstrual Cramps total punk banger and their second release on Alcopop! Records “Abortion”!

Our second hour kicked off with our hour two headliner QUEEN LAYA with the moshtastic “Rage”, followed by "LIP$TICK" by Swarm6ix and "Since I Lost You” by Issues.

I then played "Self Love" by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and "Still Dreaming” by DREAM STATE.

Next, I kept the energy high by playing "Keep It To Yourself" by Rarity and "My Condition” by Dead Poet Society.

For the second unsigned spotlight of the night, I played “Make Me” by Bath’s TWIN SKELETONS.

After that, I slowed things down with "Contently Miserable" by Rory Ryan, "See You Soon" by Wisp, and "Corduroy” by Memorial.

I then played "Nobody Escapes" by Mother Mother and "Make Less Babies” by The Guru Guru.

I kept things indie with "Sublime Disconnect" by Holiday Ghosts and "Gleam” by Office Dog.

Finally, I closed out the show with the 7-plus minute epic “Mother Leeds's 13th Child, Pts. 1 & 2“ by West-Country psych-rockers the brilliant MOTHMAN, THE MAN!
