Episode 48: Deadpunk Special
Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was little bit special in the first hour as it was our Deadpunk Special show featuring the likes of cheerbleeders, Toodles & The Hectic Pity, ME REX and Murder Club as well as a unsigned spotlight track from Nervous Rex who played at the festival.
I opened the our Deadpunk Special hour with aa true classic of the UK scene and a complete and utter banger “Sofacore” by Johnny Foreigner who headlined the festival. Following “Sofacore”, the Deadpunk Special hour featured tunes from Fortitude Valley, Teenage Sequence, Felicette, FRESH and our first unsigned spotlight track, “Just Like You” by Nervous Rex. Before the news break, I wrapped up the Deadpunk Special hour with “the absolutely ace “nail biters” by cheerbleederz. The band just dropped some super awesome new frog themed merch on their bandcamp page so you should really go check that out.
Post-news break, it was back to business as usual with the brilliant “something you said” by nathy sg. nathy sg will be playing a host of dates later this month including a stop at Common Ground in Oxford. After "something you said" the second half of the show packed the punches with tracks from Supermilk, adults, Carly Cosgrove, and our second unsigned spotlight track, “Caviar and Cigarettes” by Broken Jaw. Wrapping up this week's show was absolutely ace “Silent Disco” by Blvck Hippie. “Silent Disco” comes from Blvck Hippie’s new album The Basketball Camp that drops next month.
