Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was another banger of a show featuring the likes of The Menstrual Cramps, MILLY, and Death Lens, as well as unsigned spotlight tracks from Nothing Rhymes With Orange and Big Problem.

I opened the show with the brand new single “The 90s” from one of my absolute faves Proper. The 90s comes from the soundtrack to the horror film I Saw the TV Glow. Following “The 90s”, the first half of the show showcased tunes from Problem Patterns, Nervous Rex and PEOPLEVIOLENCE, and our first unsigned spotlight track, “Cats Eyes” by Devizes Nothing Rhyme With Orange. The band have a jam-packed summer ahead of them including a home town show at the Corn Exchange in Devizes. Before the news break, I wrapped up the first half with the absolutely epic “Feast Of Tongues” by Los Campesinos! Not only is the band dropping a new album in July, but they are also going to head out on tour across the UK in October including their first stop in Bristol since 2015.

Post-news break, I resumed with “Lucy Takes a Picture” the absolutely mesmerising news single from Youth Lagoon. After reviving his Youth Lagoon project in 2022 Trevor Powers’ output has just gotten stronger and stronger. After "Lucy Takes a Picture" the second half of the show packed the punches with tracks from All Ears Avow, Dance Gavin Dance, ACTION/ADVENTURE, and our second unsigned spotlight track, the complete punk ripper “Rowing” by Big Problem. You can catch Big Problem supporting Upchuck at Yes in Manchester on the 29th of the month. Wrapping up this week's show was the completely epic “I See You” by Bristol’s Lawi Anywar.
