Episode 55

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was another banger of a show featuring the likes of Orchards, Honey Joy, and Sweet Pill as well as unsigned spotlight tracks from Sunny Side Down and HKH.

I opened the show with a brilliant new slice of Ska “Love, Lies, & Alibis” by The Calamatrix. “Love, Lies & Alibis” comes from The Calamatrix’s forthcoming debut record. Following “Love, Lies & Alibis”, the first half of the show showcased tunes from Just Friends, ME REX, Proper. and our first unsigned spotlight track brilliant “Maths Exams” by Sunny Side Down. “Maths Exams” comes from the band’s brand new EP scrapbooking, bleeding that came out earlier on Saturday. Before the news break, I wrapped up the first half with “Stitches” the absolutely beautiful new single from Lakes. “Stitches” features the first appearance from new members Cat Rowland and Marcus Gooda and marks a stunning return for the Watford-based band

Post-news break, I resumed with the brilliant “Infinite Possibilities” by Happy Accidents. Pheebs and Rich just announced their brand-new album will be with us in September. After "Infinite Possibilities" the second half of the show packed the punches with tracks from PEOPLEVIOLENCE, Supermilk, The Nightmares, and our second unsigned spotlight track, “Heart Know Home” the complete pop-punk ripper from HKH. You can catch HKH at the Attidude Festival in Bristol this October. Wrapping up this week's show was the completely epic slice of alt-punk “Paddy” by Meryl Streek. “Paddy” comes from Meryl Streek’s new album Songs For The Deceased which is out in October.
