Episode 18

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was a jam-packed one, with bangers from the likes of CHERYM, Pinkshift, Millie Manders and The Shutup, Sincere Engineer, Proper., Filth Is Eternal, PAWS, THe Guru Guru, Kite Thief, Continents, Get Wrong, Ghost Woman, and BEST EX.

We kicked things off with CHERYM's new single "Do It Another Day," which is a great track from their upcoming debut album. I then played a couple of fresh tracks from two of my favourite bands on Big Scary Monsters: ME REX and SUDS.

In the first hour, we also had some great punk-inspired tunes from Sincere Engineer, Filth Is Eternal, and Proper. and of course, we featured our first unsigned spotlight act of the night, Occupants, with their banging single "Relaxer."

In the second hour, we played the latest single from Belgian art rockers The Guru Guru, "In 2073 (Plenty Of Other Fish In The Sea)." I also featured one of the bands I had the pleasure of chatting to at the recent Misery Loves Company festival, Kite Thief, with their brand new single "Judge Judy & Executioner."

After Kite Thief I keep things turned up 11 by playing tracks from ‘68, Continents, and Scene Queen. The Continents track I played was their brand new single “Hurricane”.

Our second unsigned spotlight act of the night was Swindon's NervEndings with their latest single "Democracy Manifest."

I slowed things down a bit with a few indie bangers from MURIEL, Daisy the Great, and Another Sky. I love playing indie music on the show, and I think these three bands are some of the best in the genre.

I followed up the indie with a couple of more atmospheric tracks from Get Wrong and Pale Blue Eyes. I'm really enjoying the music that both of these bands are making, and I think they're both ones to watch in the future.

And to close out the show, I played BEST EX’s Joyride (Glad You Found Me) a love song written by a cynic.
