Mammoth Penguins set to make waves with new album ‘Here’

Cambridge-based indie pop trio Mammoth Penguins are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated album, Here, scheduled to drop on 3 May, via Fika Recordings.

The band, consisting of vocalist Emma Kupa, bassist Mark Boxall, and drummer Tom Barden, have treated fans to a taste of what's to come with the lead single "Species". The track, described as a jagged, explosive firework of a song, showcases Kupa's poignant vocals and the band's signature indie pop sound.

Known for their infectious melodies and raw lyricism, Mammoth Penguins delivers a powerful blend of indie pop reminiscent of bands like The Beths and Weezer, coupled with Kupa's frank and confessional songwriting.

Here marks Mammoth Penguins' fourth studio album, following the success of their previous releases, including 2019's There's No Fight We Can't Both Win. Recorded, edited, and mixed at Sickroom Studios in Norfolk by Owen Turner, the new album was produced by drummer Tom Barden, with additional string arrangements by Mary Erskine and mastering by Joe Caithness.

The album explores themes of finding one's place in the world and the comfort of familiarity, with a sonic palette that leans into the band's raw pop-punk power-trio sound. Tracks like "I Know The Signs," "Blue Plaque," and the title track "Here" promise to captivate listeners with their dynamic instrumentation and heartfelt lyricism.
