Episode 39

Last night’s episode of The Scene with me your host Thom with an H, was another banger of a show featuring the likes of Sweet Pill, Laura Jane Grace, and Plutocracy Planet as well as unsigned spotlight tracks from POLLY and Nothing Rhymes With Orange.

I opened the show with “Shots?!” from South-Wale Indiepoppers Murder Club. “Shots?!” Can be found on the band’s forthcoming EP Nights Out which comes out later this month on Venn Records. Following “Shots?!”, the first half of the show showcased tunes from Aerial Salad, Van Houten, ME REX, and our first unsigned spotlight track, "MOTHER KNOWS BEST" courtesy of POLLY who will be playing a headline gig at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow on the 27 April. Before the news break, I wrapped up the first half with Marha’s cover of the Jimmy Eat World classic “A Praise Chorus”. Martha’s version of “A Praise Chorus” can be found on their surprise leap year release 7 inch Is Tomorrow Just A Day Like All The Rest? that came out via the mighty Big Scary Monsters.

Post-news break, I resumed with the new banger from Lake Malice “Eternal December”. Lake Malice kicked of their debut UK Headline tour this week with stops at place like Manchester, Bristol, and Brimingham still to come. After "Eternal December," the second half of the show packed punches with tracks from The Menstrual Cramps, Binboy, gürl, and our second unsigned spotlight track, “Friday Is Over” by Nothing Rhymes With Orange if you want to catch them live they are playing The Village Pump in Trowbridge on the 29th of the month. Wrapping up this week's show was the massive headbager that is “READY ROCK” by FEVER 333. “READY ROCK” servers as teaser for the bands forthcoming second album due out later this year.
