Sleep Outside release new EP ‘Lakes In Which To Drown In’
Cardiff/London emo rock trio Sleep Outside have released their new EP Lakes In Which To Drown In via Best Life Records with a music video for the title track also revealed.
The EP is an emotionally driven journey that explores themes of identity struggles, body dysmorphia, anxiety, and loss.
Speaking of the track vocalist/guitarist Adam Holborn said:
"As soon as we wrote this we knew it had to close out the EP, covering pretty much every influence we touch on throughout the rest of the record with a bang. Lyrically, this song was a tough one for me as it touches on some things that I've never talked about before and I was terrified for anybody to really figure it out for a long time. The song is about struggling with your identity and figuring out where exactly you fit within the world and the closer personal relationships you have on a daily basis. It's about a life-time of body dysmorphia and how this can set off a domino effect for all other anxieties to follow. It's probably the most honest I have ever been with anyone about how I feel and I really hope that anyone can find some peace with themselves because of it."
The EP also features the previously released singles “Spider” and “Math-Rock Millionaire”, both of which showcase Sleep Outside's knack for melody, intricate riffing, and pulling at the heart strings.
Sleep Outside are a band on the rise, and their new EP is a must-listen for fans of emo rock. They will be embarking on a headline tour of the UK in November/December, so be sure to catch them live if you can.
