The Casper Fight Scene sign to PNWK Records and drop new single "Cadillac Deathtrap"

Michigan’s emo-punk favourites The Casper Fight Scene have made waves with the announcement of their signing to PNWK Records, alongside the release of their new single "Cadillac Deathtrap". The band, who have long been a staple in the Midwest scene, are now gearing up for the next chapter in their career, with a full-length album set for early 2025.

"Cadillac Deathtrap", released today, is a high-energy emo anthem that encapsulates everything fans love about The Casper Fight Scene. It’s raw, it’s nostalgic, and it hits all the right emotional chords. Frontman Jason Swallow describes the song as a reflection on the frustrations of feeling trapped in your own life, yearning for change but feeling like you're stuck in place. “It’s about those moments when everything feels like it's slipping away, but you’re still hanging on, hoping for something better,” says Swallow.

The track features all the hallmarks of classic Midwest emo: loud, crunchy guitars, heartfelt lyrics, and catchy, sing-along choruses. Swallow’s impassioned vocals are backed by Kenny Quick’s searing guitar leads, while the rhythm section, powered by bassist Peter Hart and drummer Michael McGaffigan, provides the backbone for the song’s anthemic sound. It’s a track that feels both cathartic and hopeful, making it a standout moment in the band’s growing catalogue.

Signing to PNWK Records is a major milestone for The Casper Fight Scene, who have been honing their craft since their 2023 Haymaker EP. The band have built a loyal following in their home state of Michigan, and with the support of PNWK, they’re ready to take their music to a wider audience. Known for their heartfelt lyrics and raucous live shows, The Casper Fight Scene are poised to become one of the breakout acts in the Midwest emo revival.

The band’s forthcoming debut album, slated for release in early 2025, promises to expand on the themes explored in "Cadillac Deathtrap". Fans can expect a mix of high-energy punk tracks and introspective emo ballads, with Swallow’s lyrics delving into themes of regret, fear, and the desire for change. The band have already revealed that they’ll be taking their new material on the road, with a series of tour dates lined up alongside Cliffdiver and labelmates Leisure Hour in November and December.

Kicking off in Madison, Wisconsin, The Casper Fight Scene’s tour will see them play shows across the US, including stops in Austin, New York, and Philadelphia. The band are known for their electrifying live performances, with their energy on stage often compared to bands like Hot Mulligan and The Wonder Years. Fans attending the tour can expect to hear new tracks like "Cadillac Deathtrap" alongside fan favourites from the Haymaker EP.

With their new single, a fresh record deal, and an exciting tour on the horizon, The Casper Fight Scene are ready to take their place as one of the leading voices in modern emo. Fans of the genre won’t want to miss what the band has in store for 2025.
