The Nightmares Drop 'From Above (Remix EP)' ahead of UK tour
Newport's goth punks, The Nightmares, are set to shake up their 'Noir Pop' sound with the release of From Above (Remix EP) via Venn Records.
As they gear up for their UK tour, the band is giving their haunting track a fresh twist, originally featured on their debut album Séance. The Nightmares have collaborated with a diverse lineup to reimagine "From Above" in four unique ways. Zetra adds atmospheric shoegaze vibes, Moth Slut brings in shadowy goth club feels, Cruel Blue infuses 80s post-punk, and Soft Faith turns it into an uplifting dancefloor hit.
Bass player Ben Mainwaring reflects on the EP, saying:
“As we approach the one year anniversary of our debut album, 'Séance', we felt it only right to revisit the first single we released on that campaign. What better song to pick than, "From Above", a song about a vampire falling in love with a human.
We handpicked four of our peers, to take the stems from the original recording, and reimagine the song, however they pleased.
This 4 track EP features new friends in Zetra, old friends from our punk and hardcore backgrounds, in Cruel Blue. Tourmates in Moth Slut, and even kindred-spirit counterparts from across the pond in Soft Faith.
Each reimagination of "From Above" is a beautiful and unique take on the track, and each version perfectly captures how different personalities can perceive the emotions within a song.

Following successful support tours with Casey, Kids In Glass Houses, and Creeper, The Nightmares are ready to headline dates across the UK, with MOTH SLUT joining as tour support.
Talking about the tour Mainwaring says:
“The setlist on this tour will include tracks from our debut album, 'Séance', as well as deep cuts from our self-titled EP, and various singles from our back catalogue. Making up the most diverse selection of songs of our career to date. We're also taking the excellent Manchester based Queer Darkwave duo Moth Slut on their first tour as main support, so these shows are not to be missed.”
The tour takes in cities such as Manchester, Glasgow, and London as well as hometown stop for the band at Le Pub in Newport.
