Good Kid share catchy single "Summer" with enchanting animated video

JUNO-nominated indie group Good Kid have treated their fans to latest single, "Summer," accompanied by a mesmerizing animated music video crafted by XrayAlphaCharlie.

The track, set to appear on their eagerly anticipated EP, Good Kid 4, releasing on 27 March, showcases the band's signature indie-pop sound, featuring clever lyrics and catchy hooks that characterize their infectious earworms.

Lead singer Nick Frosst sheds light on the inspiration behind the track:

“‘Summer’ is about spending the winter months locked indoors and then finally taking a few steps outdoors to find that it’s 30 degrees and sunny.”

Good Kid's upcoming EP follows their recent JUNO Awards nomination for Breakthrough Group Of The Year, setting the stage for their most extensive headlining tour to date. With over 90% of North American dates already sold out, the overwhelming demand for tickets has prompted multiple venue upgrades in the UK and Europe, attesting to the band's meteoric rise.

The six-track EP also features the popular single "From The Start," which amassed an impressive 1 million streams in just 24 hours, and a cumulative 24 million streams to date. Known for their eclectic fusion of J-rock, indie-rock, and pop-punk, Good Kid's success extends beyond their catchy tunes. Innovative fan engagement and business decisions, such as making their entire discography DMCA-free, have cultivated an extensive and devoted fanbase.

Good Kid 4 represents the culmination of the band's busiest touring year, reflecting on the transformative journey of the past two years. Guitarist David Wood shares, "Many of the songs on this album are about the experience of music itself and how it has impacted our lives immensely. We wrote songs about facing anxiety with your friends, and about dancing. We wrote songs about reaching your breaking point and the hotels we would stay in night after night, which eventually blended into one endless timewarp of beige hallways."

The band's unique approach to copyright, with a DMCA-free discography, has amplified their online reach, evident in collaborations with notable personalities like Mr. Beast, XrayAlphaCharlie, Julien Solomita, and Trash Taste.

As Good Kid gears up for their upcoming headline tours across Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe, their commitment to being the world's most creator-friendly band is evident. They kick off their run with a performance at the JUNO Block Party in Halifax, Canada, on March 22, setting the stage for another year of sold-out shows and unforgettable musical experiences.
