Bloodstock launches 2025 ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ scheme

Bloodstock Festival has announced the return of its popular Metal 2 The Masses (M2TM) scheme for 2025, once again giving unsigned and self-released metal bands the chance to perform on the New Blood stage. Supported by long-time sponsor Timothy Taylor, this grassroots initiative is expanding even further, with 31 regions now involved, including Cyprus and Poland.

This year’s programme promises the largest M2TM competition to date, reflecting the festival’s dedication to supporting local music scenes and rising talent. Bloodstock's commitment to grassroots metal was recognised earlier this year at the Heavy Music Awards, where the festival received The H Award for its significant contribution to the heavy music community.

M2TM has been instrumental in elevating emerging artists, offering them the chance to perform at one of the UK’s most beloved metal festivals. Regional heats, judged by a combination of music professionals and dedicated fans, will determine the acts securing coveted slots on the New Blood stage during the festival weekend in August. In some cases, even standout runners-up have earned opportunities to perform, making this competition a vital launchpad for many bands.

Simon Hall, Bloodstock’s M2TM organiser, said:

"We’re thrilled to be expanding M2TM yet again. The talent we see every year is phenomenal, and it’s an honour to provide a platform for these bands to showcase their hard work and passion. This is what metal is all about—community and supporting each other."

With regions spanning the length and breadth of the UK—and even extending internationally to Norway and Poland—bands are encouraged to contact their local M2TM promoter as soon as possible to secure a spot. The first heats are set to kick off in the coming weeks.

While new talent gears up to compete, Bloodstock’s 2025 line-up already features metal giants like Trivium, Machine Head, and Gojira headlining the Ronnie James Dio stage, with Kataklysm, Static-X, and Obituary leading the charge on the Sophie Lancaster stage. With additional acts such as Emperor, Lacuna Coil, Fear Factory, and Creeper, Bloodstock’s billing promises something for every metal fan.

The festival will take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire, from 7-10 August 2025. For bands interested in applying, venue details and contact information for each region can be found on Bloodstock’s official website and social media pages.

Stay tuned for further announcements, including additional bands and festival activities, as Bloodstock 2025 shapes up to be another unforgettable weekend of heavy music and camaraderie.
