Sweet Pill unravel their back catalogue with forthcoming ‘Unraveled EP’
One of our faves, Sweet Pill, are wrapping up one chapter and kicking off another with their forthcoming acoustic EP, Unraveled. Dropping 31 January 2025 via Hopeless Records, the collection gives six fan-favourite tracks—“Cut,” “Dog Song,” “High Hopes,” “Star Child,” “Chewed Up,” and “Red String”—a stripped-back makeover. The acoustic reworks offer an intimate look at the band’s evolving sound, revealing fresh emotional layers to their already standout tunes.
To lead the charge, Sweet Pill have dropped an acoustic version of “Cut,” streaming everywhere now. This new take dials down the intensity of the original, swapping it for tender acoustic instrumentation that highlights Zayna Youssef’s stunning vocals. It’s a softer, more vulnerable vibe that hits just right.
Talking about the project, Zayna shared:
“To wrap up this era of Sweet Pill and before we start the next one, we decided to share and reimagine these songs one last time. Through these last two years, we’ve been constantly performing these songs from Where The Heart Is LP and Starchild EP, and they have continually morphed and changed. In the Unraveled EP, we show the true vulnerability these songs have. For me personally, I go out of my comfort zone and I don’t rely too much on belting. I don’t do that often and I tend to not be so confident with my falsetto and softer bits. But we all pushed ourselves and created something you may not expect from Sweet Pill.”
The EP marks the end of an era for Sweet Pill, following their Where The Heart Is LP and Starchild EP. The acoustic versions bring a new perspective, giving longtime listeners a chance to rediscover favourites through the lens of delicate arrangements and raw emotion. Youssef also noted how creating the EP pushed her out of her comfort zone, especially with her softer vocal delivery.

“I learned so much from this and my ability. I can’t wait to apply it to LP 2 and show the world just how versatile Sweet Pill can be.”
