Knosis sign with Sharptone Records, and drop new single "FUHAI" ft. Yukina of Hanabie

Japanese metal outfit Knosis has officially joined the ranks of Sharptone Records, marking a significant step forward for the band fronted by the former Crystal Lake vocalist, Ryo Kinoshita. The announcement comes alongside the release of their hard-hitting debut single “FUHAI”, featuring a guest appearance by Yukina, the forceful frontwoman of rising metalcore group Hanabie. With the raw intensity that has defined Kinoshita’s career thus far, “FUHAI” gives fans a glimpse into Knosis' distinct blend of metal and hardcore.

The single showcases Knosis at their most ferocious, melding Kinoshita’s emotionally charged vocals with the unrelenting precision of Yukina’s delivery. Speaking about the collaboration, Kinoshita says, “I’ve been waiting for the right moment to release this track. Working with Yukina has added another dimension to our sound, and I hope listeners feel the energy we’ve created together.”

Knosis represents a new chapter for Kinoshita, whose previous work with Crystal Lake positioned him as one of the most respected voices in Japanese metal. With this new project, he’s exploring fresh territory both sonically and thematically. While there are clear ties to his metalcore roots, Knosis incorporates a broader palette of influences, which creates an unpredictable, volatile atmosphere in their music.

“FUHAI” delves into the deeper emotional terrain that Kinoshita has made his own. Driven by themes of personal struggle and resilience, the track reflects the band’s mission to offer listeners an outlet for their own frustrations. “Music has always been a way for me to connect with people on a visceral level,” Kinoshita explains. “With Knosis, I’m hoping to continue that connection in a way that feels even more personal.”

This signing to Sharptone, home to acts like Polaris and Currents, puts Knosis in esteemed company, setting the stage for what promises to be a breakthrough year for the band. Fans can expect more music soon, as Kinoshita hinted at future releases building on the momentum of “FUHAI.” If the debut single is any indication, Knosis will be a force to be reckoned with in the metal scene, both in Japan and internationally.

Knosis’ journey is just beginning, and their partnership with Sharptone Records points to exciting developments ahead. With the blistering energy of “FUHAI” ringing in our ears, it’s clear Knosis are ready to leave their mark.
