Any Other shares new single “stillness, stop”

Any Other, the project of Italian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Adele Altro, releases their latest single "stillness, stop," taken from their recently released album stillness, stop: you have a right to remember via 42 Records.

This new track arrives as a poignant exploration of Adele's journey, delving into themes of self-discovery, family, relationships, and gender identity.

Crafted with a blend of acoustic and electronic instrumentation, "stillness, stop" offers a warm and immersive sonic experience reminiscent of artists like Dirty Projectors, Mitski, and Sufjan Stevens. The song resonates with stark emotional honesty, intricate melodic lines, and delicate poignancy, captivating listeners with its introspective lyricism and soulful delivery.

Reflecting on the album's title and themes, Adele shares their personal journey of recollecting memories lost to traumatic experiences:

“"I feel like erasing memories served me somehow, but I also think that at some point I needed to take some time for myself to remember. I had the right to remember! What happened in my life shaped me as a person – and I'm not saying I'm grateful everything happened, but I need to remind myself that I am the person who went through it and overcame it.”

Recorded in January 2023 in Milan, Italy, the album marks a significant step in Adele's creative evolution, co-produced with their best friend Marco Giudici. Embracing vulnerability and relinquishing control over the production process, Adele demonstrates growth both musically and personally, resulting in a deeply introspective and cathartic body of work.

With their upcoming performance in London on 24 April at The Grace, Any Other invites audiences into their world of raw emotion and introspection. Through "stillness, stop: you have a right to remember," Adele Altro continues to carve out a space for authenticity and connection, inviting listeners to join them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
