Balance and Composure drop title track of forthcoming album ‘With You in Spirit’

Balance and Composure have returned with their latest single, "With You in Spirit", the title track from their upcoming album, With You in Spirit, which is set for release on 4 October via Memory Music. This will be the band's first full-length album since 2016's Light We Made and marks their long-awaited reunion after a brief hiatus.

Produced by Will Yip, whose impressive portfolio includes work with Turnstile and Title Fight, the new record has been crafted with the same level of intensity and passion that fans have come to expect. On "With You in Spirit", the band dives headfirst into a familiar yet refined sound, blending atmospheric post-punk elements with their signature melancholic rock. The result is a track that feels both introspective and explosive, pairing shimmering guitar lines with the heavy emotional weight carried in Jon Simmons' vocals.

Lyrically, "With You in Spirit" addresses themes of absence and unresolved grief. Simmons’ delivery, alongside a carefully layered instrumental backdrop, highlights the feelings of longing that permeate the song. The interplay of soaring guitars and dynamic shifts create moments of tension and release, which mirrors the internal battles explored in the lyrics.

The band has been slowly building anticipation for the new album with previous singles "Believe the Hype", "Cross to Bear", and "Any Means". Each track has hinted at the group’s evolving sound, one that pays homage to their roots while continuing to push their creative boundaries. If the title track is anything to go by, With You in Spirit promises to be a record that sees Balance and Composure reclaim their place as one of the most compelling acts in modern rock.

Following the release, the band will embark on a headlining tour across the U.S., with support from Kevin Devine & The Goddamn Band and Milly, giving fans the chance to experience these new songs live. Balance and Composure’s re-emergence feels less like a comeback and more like a continuation of something that was never meant to end.
