BIG LOVE share anticipated new single "Is It Over Yet"

Today, fast-rising Dublin six-piece band BIG LOVE share their much-anticipated new single, "Is It Over Yet."

This latest release continues to build on the significant momentum the band has been gathering, earning accolades from notable platforms like Hot Press, Whelan’s Ones To Watch, and RTÉ Recommends. Known for their widescreen indie-pop-inflected alt-rock sound, BIG LOVE has captivated audiences with sold-out shows at staple Dublin venues such as The Workman’s Club and The Grand Social. They’ve also made memorable appearances at major festivals, including Electric Picnic and Other Voices.

Speaking on the track, vocalist Cian Ó’Maonlaí says:

“This song for me is an attempt at tracking and describing a wandering mind. From helpless, hopeless dread to boundless joy we can dance between the two at any given moment. The song places a protagonist sitting deep in the dark of a pub alone. He waits for friends and happiness to arrive. He waits with an excited stomach, a feeling disguised as sick and anxious, for happiness and life to return.”

BIG LOVE comprises Cian Ó’Maonlaí (lead vocals), Jack Cody (guitar/vocals), Megan Nic Ruairí (vocals, keys/synth), Dan Aherne (bass), Anton Shovlin (drums), and Adam Curtis (lead guitar). Their new single, "Is It Over Yet," recorded in London with producer Matt Glasbey (Alt-J, Sorry, Bloc Party), showcases the band’s knack for crafting compelling music. The track features glitchy synths and drums that gently build from brooding moments to cathartic and euphoric highs, characterized by hook-led harmonies and subtly discordant guitar work. It captures a blend of pensive introspection and anthemic release, exploring the turmoil of our inner psyches in moments of solitude.

With more live dates and new music planned for 2024, "Is It Over Yet" stands as a significant statement of intent for BIG LOVE. This single marks another leap forward for the band, proving their relentless pursuit of growth both sonically and as artists. For fans and newcomers alike, now is the perfect time to experience the unique sound of BIG LOVE.
