Tacoma, Washington’s own Enumclaw has dropped a new single, "Not Just Yet," the second offering from their forthcoming sophomore album Home in Another Life, set for release on 30th August via Run For Cover Records.
This track juxtaposes grandiose musicality with a tender, distressed ode to band members Aramis Johnson and Eli Edwards' Uncle Mike, who has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. Aramis clamours for more time with the man who "taught him everything," shouting in disbelief over the top of thundering, arena-shaking drums from LaDaniel Gipson.
Alongside the single, Enumclaw has teamed up with frequent collaborator and director John C. Peterson for another explosive music video, centred on one long zoom-out shot.
Director John C. Peterson explains the inspiration behind the video:
"This video all started with a painting that Andrew Durgin-Barnes did for Rizzo and Quasi Skateboards. Barnes' painting screamed a story, so I’d always wanted to adapt it to a one-take music video. Once I told Aramis my idea over a year ago, he was always adamant we had to do it. 'Not Just Yet' was the perfect song for it. Short and sweet. Loud. We did our best to bring the painting to life and I think we did it justice."
Home in Another Life, co-produced by Ben Zaidi and Enumclaw, expands on the high-octane rock foundation the band built with their widely praised 2022 debut album Save The Baby. The eleven tracks feature vocalist and principal songwriter Aramis Johnson, who delivers quakingly tender songs written to electrify basement shows and reverberate through arenas alike. The band writes and performs like a group wrestling with the weight of growing up without seeking pity, tackling changes head-on while enjoying the moment.
