Loose Articles announce debut album and drop new single “I’d Rather Have A Beer”

Manchester-based punks Loose Articles have released their latest single “I'd Rather Have A Beer” via Alcopop! Records. The track offers a tantalizing preview of their eagerly anticipated debut album, scheduled for later this year, with further details to be announced.

“I'd Rather Have A Beer” showcases the band's signature spiky Mancunian post-punk sound, delivering a cautionary narrative against succumbing to negative relationships with "f*ckboys." Vocalist Natalie Wardle's lyrics cleverly advise listeners to "raise a glass to all the man slags/they're nothing more than just a guy you've had."

Describing the new single, the band states:

The track is an anthem encouraging people to go out and have fun with your pals, rather than chasing people and dead relationships who are not worth your time.

Loose Articles have a jam-packed schedule for the year, including a major supporting slot with Foo Fighters this summer, as well as a set of French tour dates in February 2024. The band will also make appearances at select festivals, with additional dates to be announced soon.

The upcoming release follows the success of their 2022 debut EP Chaos and the 2023 single “Sinead Loves Bitcoin”.

Building on a busy 2023, where they embarked on their Arts Council England funded Kick Like A Girl headline tour, offering insights into the music business to young women from underrepresented backgrounds, Loose Articles also supported Gang Of Four on their UK headline dates, appeared at Long Division, 2000 Tees, and Rebellion festivals, and toured across the EU with Thumpasaurus.

The band's commitment to supporting grassroots venues and northern creatives remains strong, and they continue to explore new avenues in 2024.
