Death Lens announce new album ‘Cold World’

Los Angeles-based alt-punk powerhouse, Death Lens, are set to release their highly anticipated new album, "Cold World," on 3 May, through Epitaph Records.

The band, comprised of the five self-described "Brown boys from La Puente," has been making waves since 2015 with their explosive energy and unwavering dedication to social justice and community causes.

The band reflects on the choice of the album's title:

It just seemed to fit in the days we're living. It's the desire to thrive in a deteriorating world, all while pushing those who feel like there is no hope and hoping to give them a second wind, a sense of hope.

With a blend of slick guitar sonics and tender backing vocal harmonies that draw from indie, punk, and shoegaze influences, Death Lens presents a surrealistic music video for the title track, "Cold World”.

Produced by NYC-based Brett Romnes, Cold World marks a departure from Death Lens' early styles, evolving into matured and robust post-hardcore-tinged rock songs. Despite initial concerns about working with a producer, the collaboration with Romnes opened up new creative territories, resulting in an album that showcases massive hooks and compelling songwriting.

Talking about their time with Romnes the band said:

"This was our first time using a producer, and we were scared that our sound was not going to be us, but Brett was such an amazing addition to the writing process. The goal was to find a common ground and build from that, and we did almost instantly on day one; it was beautiful."

Lyrically, "Cold World" delves into vocalist Bryan Torres's personal journey and his reflections on social injustices, political unrest, and the emotional toll it takes. Growing up as minorities amidst police harassment and gang violence, Death Lens chose positivity and aims to be a light for their communities, fans, and each other.
