Lord Dying announce new album 'Clandestine Transcendence'
Lord Dying, the progressive sludge masters from Portland, Oregon, have announced their new album, Clandestine Transcendence, which will be released on 19 January via MNRK Heavy.
The album is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2019 album, Mysterium Tremendum, and is said to be even more ambitious and adventurous.
The band has also released a new single, "I Am Nothing. I Am Everything," from the upcoming album. The song is a heavy and atmospheric track that showcases the band's unique sound.
Front man Erik Olson comments:
“We are super psyched to announce the release of our new album Clandestine Transcendence on MNRK Heavy, recorded by the incredible Kurt Ballou at God City Studios. In addition to our new album, we are premiering the first single/video 'I Am Nothing. I Am Everything'. The video was directed by the incomparable Zev Deans, and we couldn't be happier with the results.”
Clandestine Transcendence is a conceptual album that tells the story of a character called The Dreamer, who is an immortal being who wants to die. The album explores the themes of death, the afterlife, and the meaning of existence.
The album was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at his God City Studios. Ballou is known for his work with heavy bands such as Mastodon, High On Fire, and Code Orange.
