Los Campesinos! announce album seven is finished and ready to go.

Los Campesinos! - "The Kings of Bands" - have announced that their seventh album is set to release this summer, marking their triumphant return to claim their crown!

Yes, you read that correctly. Fresh off the back of their sold-out show at London’s Troxy, the greatest band of all time (well, in Thom’s opinion), Los Campesinos!, has announced they will be dropping their seventh album this summer. We have been waiting with bated breath to share this news with you since last November, when Gareth let slip to Thom that the album was coming this year. Mere words cannot explain our excitement for this latest slice of Los Camp; it feels like it's been a long seven years since the band dropped "Sick Scenes" in 2017, and we can't wait to see how the band's sound has evolved.

The band revealed via their substack email blast that they have been working on the album since last October, and it will be released this summer, with more details to follow. Those lucky enough to attend the band’s show at Troxy on Saturday would have had a chance to sneak a peek at one of the album’s tracks, "A Psychic Wound".

From all accounts, it seems that the band’s show at London’s Troxy and Friday’s at Brudenell in Leeds were both a complete smash. We seriously regret not making it to either show, and from what we could see on social media surrounding the Troxy date, the venue looked amazing, and the band played set that would have reduced Thom to a crying mess.

Talking about the Troxy show the band said:

“Saturday night was beyond special. It’s hard to put into words how much it means to us. To do this thing with your best mates is the biggest privilege, and we are beyond grateful to have shared it with 3,000 of you singing every word. Thank you for being there, thank you to all our amazing crew and the venue staff who made it a wonderful occasion, and thank you to our comrades in Martha for joining us.”

If you find yourself in North America later this year and you're eager to catch one of the band's already-announced shows, we strongly advise you to act promptly. According to the band, tickets are expected to sell out soon. Additionally, it was announced last week that Pittsburgh's Short Fictions will be joining them for the East Coast dates, while London/Bristol punks Fresh will be joining them for the West Coast shows.
