Co-Founder & Director Kelly Rose Named in BIMA 100
We’re thrilled to share that our Co-Founder & Director, Kelly Rose, has been recognised in the British Interactive Media Association BIMA 100 list for CEOs & Leaders in organisations with revenues under £5 million. This prestigious recognition by the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) is a personal honour and a huge milestone for The Scene and SceneMusicMedia as we inch closer to our first full year in operation.
Every year, BIMA celebrates 100 outstanding individuals who are shaping the digital landscape. After receiving 400 nominations and undergoing two rounds of rigorous judging involving over 100 judges across 11 categories, the top 100 brightest digital stars were selected.
When we launched SceneMusicMedia last summer, we had a vision of creating a vibrant, independent community for music, art, and beyond. The Scene Magazine and The Scene Radio Show were born from a passion to not just observe the scene but to actively facilitate and nurture it. We wanted to be more than just consumers or another media outlet. We want to approach everything we do as facilitators, prioritising community, challenging industry norms, and championing inclusivity. Every decision we make revolves around small artists, fostering growth for all, and ensuring that the alternative community has a dedicated platform.
And the response from you has been overwhelming.
We’ve been embraced and supported by the music community in ways we never imagined. From passionate writers and photographers joining our team, to the artists and musicians trusting us to tell their stories, to building relationships with deeply respected companies, and community leaders openly sharing experience and wisdom.
I am but one piece of this incredible scene. This recognition wouldn't have been possible without my partner Thom—in business and in life—who is equally as instrumental to our success.
Together, we’ve hustled away in awe of the whirlwind of unexpected growth and genuine connection.
For me, being named in the BIMA 100 is an opportunity to shine a bright light on this area of the industry. It’s a chance to bring wider media attention to the amazing work happening at the grassroots level. I’m so proud to be a part of this movement.
As we gear up to a full summer of activity (and our first birthday next month) I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. This recognition from BIMA is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion of everyone involved in this journey.
Thank you to the incredible team at SceneMusicMedia, to our supporters, and to the vibrant community that has welcomed us with open arms. We also want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the other exceptional individuals named in the BIMA 100 for 2024.
Here’s to many more milestones and to continuing our mission of fostering community, innovation, and inclusivity in the music and arts scene.
Stay tuned for some very exciting first birthday announcements!
