Chastity has shared a new single titled “Offing”, offering another glimpse into the band’s upcoming self-titled album, set for release on 13 September via Deathwish (US), Dine Alone (Canada), and Big Scary Monsters (UK/EU).
Described by project instigator Brandon Williams as "some townie emo," “Offing” is a unique blend of Chastity’s old-school emo sound with a distinct country influence, creating a heartfelt singalong moment.
The new album, Chastity, explores familiar themes like struggle, death, despair, and redemption but with a fresh intensity and emotional depth. According to Williams, this record is deeply personal, focusing on his early life struggles and expressing gratitude to those who have supported him. The album also includes the powerful previous single “Jaw Locked”, which is a driving, energetic anthem about voiceless loneliness.
Founded in Whitby, Ontario, Chastity has always been about creating community connections through music. Williams and his friends started hosting punk shows in a barn, which quickly drew attention and became a hub for the local scene. Over the years, Chastity has toured extensively across North America, sharing stages with bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Alexisonfire, and Deafheaven.
The band’s commitment to fostering a sense of belonging is reflected not just in their live performances but also in their music, which often delves into themes of isolation and the search for connection. Chastity’s work is a testament to the power of community and the role that music plays in bringing people together, even in the most unexpected places.
As Chastity prepares to release their fourth full-length album, the band continues to push the boundaries of their sound while staying true to the core values that have driven them from the start. With “Offing” and the rest of the tracks on Chastity, the band offers a raw and honest exploration of personal struggles, all set against a backdrop of powerful, genre-blending music.
