Chastity, the moniker for Ontario musician Brandon Williams, has released his first music of a new era with the anthemic single "Summer All Over Again," out now via Big Scary Monsters (UK), Deathwish Inc. (US), and Dine Alone Records (Canada).
The track blends classic emo sonics with scuzzed-up guitars and impassioned vocals, creating an ultimate summer anti-anthem that captures the melancholic essence of the season.
Williams describes the new single, saying:
"Summer used to feel yellow, now it feels blue, it’s like damn Winter 2. This song's about that quiet melancholy, like when you're outside on a perfect day, and you miss your cue to be happy."
Chastity's music resonates with themes of isolation and resilience. His latest single continues this tradition, providing a powerful emotional release set against a backdrop of evocative melodies and raw, heartfelt lyrics.
Brandon Williams has made three critically acclaimed albums under the Chastity moniker. His latest album, Suffer Summer, was released in 2022, and marked the culmination of a trilogy that showcased his emotional depth and musical versatility. His debut album Death Lust (2018) drew inspiration from bands like Unwound and The Smashing Pumpkins, exploring themes of mortality. The follow-up, Home Made Satan (2019), delved into world-weary anxiety with Hum-like atmospherics. Suffer Summer offered a meditation on happiness, with powerhouse riffs and potent choruses that paid homage to Mineral and Jimmy Eat World.
Chastity has toured with notable bands such as Fucked Up and Alexisonfire. Dallas Green, of Alexisonfire and City and Colour, even made a guest appearance on "Vicious Circle," the emotional centerpiece of Suffer Summer.
With "Summer All Over Again," Chastity continues to push the boundaries of alternative music, delivering a track that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. As we dive into the summer season, this new single is poised to become a soundtrack for those moments of quiet reflection and unspoken melancholy.
