Coheed and Cambria are back with standalone single “The Joke”

Scene legends and one of our all-time most loved bands, Coheed and Cambria, have introduced their latest track, "The Joke”. This standalone track emerges from the sessions for their album Vaxis - Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind.

"The Joke" delves into the complexities of human interaction, illustrating a dialogue between contrasting personalities—one carefree and the other restrained by societal norms. Claudio Sanchez, the band's frontman, explains that the song captures the tension between living with abandon and the constraints imposed by society.

With Sanchez sharing:

“The meaning behind “The Joke”, is basically, if you need a punching bag, I’ll be that guy.”

For collectors and fans alike, Coheed and Cambria are offering "The Joke" as a 7" vinyl, available in multiple exclusive colours including swamp green & blood mix and coke bottle clear with blood splatter, each adding a unique aesthetic appeal to the physical edition. These can be pre-ordered from the band's official website. The vinyl also includes a remixed and remastered version of "Deranged," a track originally part of the Batman: Arkham City soundtrack.

In addition to the new release, Coheed and Cambria are preparing for a busy tour schedule this summer, joining forces with Primus and Incubus for several dates across the United States. They will also headline Alabama's Furnace Fest and perform at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas, promising a full playthrough of their acclaimed album, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness.

Also out today is the first issue of the final chapter of Sanchez’s revered sci-fi comic series The Amory Wars released via Boom! Studios.
