FREQz announces debut album ‘Grizzly Peak’

Oakland-based indie rock ensemble FREQz have announced their debut album, Grizzly Peak, set for release on 7 June.

To mark the announcement, the band has also released the lead single "All Of The Days," complemented by a visually engaging music video. Fans of bands like The Concretes and Camera Obscura will find a lot to love in FREQz's sound, which expertly blends climactic rock with intricate electronic elements.

The single, available now on all major digital platforms, delves into themes of aimless wandering and the search for connection. Nelda Kerr, the band's vocalist, explains:

"The song explores the notion that what we're searching for might already be within reach, an idea that resonates with anyone who's felt alone in a crowd."

The accompanying music video, filmed at the iconic Eli’s Mile High Club in Oakland, captures the essence of the track. Directed by Asali Echols and produced by Danny Echevarria and JaMile Jackson, the video provides a perfect visual representation of the song's introspective lyrics and the band's dynamic performance.

Grizzly Peak is not just an album but a journey through the personal and the universal, with tracks that range from polyrhythmic bangers to electronic dance numbers and rock ballads. The album is named after a well-known Oakland locale, famous as a vantage point that overlooks the Bay Area, and serves as a metaphor for the emotional vistas the album explores.

The record release show is scheduled for 6 June at The Knockout in San Francisco, promising an evening of new music and energetic performances alongside local bands Mommy Mommy, Tricky FM, and Winnie Wanders. This event is set to be a cornerstone for FREQz as they celebrate their new musical chapter.

Listeners can pre-order Grizzly Peak now, with the full album promising to deliver a sonic experience that blends nostalgic elements with forward-thinking music innovation. Each track on the album is designed to resonate deeply with listeners, offering a reflective look at the complexities of modern life through the lens of vibrant indie rock.
