Windwaker Unveils New Album HYPERVIOLENCE
Australian metalcore band Windwaker has announced their upcoming album HYPERVIOLENCE, scheduled for release on 12 July through Fearless Records.
The band has kicked off the album's launch with the release of the single "Break the Rules," accompanied by a high-energy music video.
"Break the Rules" blends industrial sounds with the band's signature metalcore flair. According to Windwaker, the track delves into the dynamics between contrasting personalities and the pursuit of living life unrestrained. It depicts a dialogue between an introvert and an extrovert, each arguing the merits of their lifestyle choices, encapsulating the tension between societal norms and personal freedom.
The song’s video showcases the band's vibrant energy and is a testament to their creative vision, produced with cinematic quality that complements the song's thematic depth.
HYPERVIOLENCE promises to be a culmination of Windwaker’s progressive approach to metalcore, infusing elements of electronic music, pop, and hip-hop into their robust metal framework. The album aims to push the boundaries of their sound, which has been evolving since their debut album Love Language in 2022.
Since their formation in Melbourne in 2017, Windwaker has rapidly risen in the ranks of the metal scene, amassing millions of streams and garnering a strong fan following. Their previous single, "SIRENS," achieved notable success with over 2.5 million streams on Spotify, further cementing their place in the industry.
Windwaker's ability to deliver intense live performances has been well-documented, with their shows often described as a seamless blend of aggressive mosh pits and emotive moments. The band has shared stages with notable acts such as Beartooth, I Prevail, and Motionless In White, demonstrating their versatility and appeal across the metal spectrum.
