Gaffa Tape Sandy revel In revenge on new single “Dead To Me”

Brighton-based garage-punk trio Gaffa Tape Sandy have dropped their latest single "Dead To Me" track is a precursor to their upcoming album Hold My Hand, God Damn It, slated for release on 31 May via Alcopop! Records.

Adding to the excitement, the band has confirmed their appearance at Latitude Festival this summer. Moreover, they'll be gracing the stages of Resident Records and Banquet Records for a couple of in-store performances.

Marking their return after their 2023 album track "Split" and the recent lead single "Scrapbook", Gaffa Tape Sandy's new music has already garnered support from fans and critics alike.

In their statement about the single, the band remarked:

"We put this song together in what felt like seconds! Some songwriters would call it a 'sneeze'. Certain songs come together quickly for Gaffa Tape Sandy, and others take months (or years!) to get right. The song takes lyrical ideas and tone from revenge films... we like to think of this song as a throwback to our first EP called 'Spring Killing', which had similar inspirations. It's jagged, characteristic and sounds exactly like the slice of garage punk that we've tried to carve out for ourselves as a band."

Hold My Hand, God Damn It was written by Gaffa Tape Sandy as the world emerged from the initial COVID-19 lockdown. Despite facing personal and mental health challenges, including post-COVID issues and breakups, the band persisted. Recorded and produced by George Perks at Vada Studios, the album encapsulates the band's journey of friendship and reconciliation in turbulent times.

With a packed tour schedule lined up for September/October 2024 across the UK and an album release show at Rough Trade East, London on 5th June 2024, Gaffa Tape Sandy are set to make waves in the music scene once again.
