HARU NEMURI and Frost Children announce 'Soul Kiss' collabrative EP

It’s not every day you get an underground experimental icon from Tokyo teaming up with NYC’s most fashionably chaotic sibling duo. But that’s exactly what’s happening with Soul Kiss, the new collaborative EP from HARU NEMURI and Frost Children, arriving on 4 October. Before the full release, we get a glimpse into their world with the single “Daijoubu Desu,” along with a video that’s as disorienting as it is hypnotic.

The track, anchored by HARU’s raw vocal delivery and Frost Children’s explosive production, plays like a sonic freak-out on the verge of collapse. Add in some vinyl scratches from A-Trak, and you’ve got an anarchic anthem for the times we live in. The duo’s approach to genre? Don’t ask. Hardcore? Sure. Pop? Maybe. Post-rock? EDM? All of the above, but at the same time, none of it.

HARU reflects on the track’s message:

“There’s a lot of people telling me, ‘It’s going to be okay,’ when really, it’s not. We’re living in a world of climate disasters, inequality, and systems that keep exploiting people. So I want to scream back, ‘What’s going to be okay?!’”

This unexpected collaboration started in 2021, when HARU NEMURI and Frost Children met on tour and quickly realized they shared more than just chaotic live energy. They reunited in Berlin to experiment with sound before finalizing Soul Kiss over a string of hyperspeed sessions in Tokyo. The rest was shaped through trans-Atlantic file-swapping between HARU’s Tokyo base and Frost Children’s NYC studio. The EP's result is five tracks that sound like they came from a dimension where musical rules simply don’t exist.

Soul Kiss Tracklist:

  1. Daijoubu Desu

  2. Burn

  3. Supernatural

  4. Bad Thing

  5. Get Well Soon

  6. Expect pure genre-bending chaos.

To support the EP, HARU NEMURI is making her return to U.S. soil for a short but intense run of live shows. Known for her electrifying performances that pull the crowd into a whirlwind of noise, poetry, and emotion, this is a chance to see her at the height of her creative powers. Meanwhile, Frost Children are tearing up stages across the country on their own headlining tour, with their live shows being just as unpredictable and maximalist as their music.
