Mimi Barks drops new single "House Full of Fakes" ahead of 2000trees appearance

London-based alternative artist and doom trap pioneer Mimi Barks has just shared the official music video for her latest single, "House Full of Fakes." This powerful new track comes just two days before her performance at the 2000trees Festival on 10 July at the Forest Sessions stage.

"House Full of Fakes" is the fourth single from Mimi Barks' debut album This Is Doom Trap, set for release on 26 September via Silent Cult. The album is now available for pre-order, along with exclusive merchandise.

Commenting on the new single, Mimi Barks shares:

“The present moment exudes a sense of post-apocalyptic insanity, both internally and externally— 'Doom Eternal.' This destructiveness infiltrates not only history but also homes and streets, mirrored in the way we communicate with one another. Collective thoughts, beliefs, and energies are tainted with despair and aggression.” She continues, "A deep longing to live in the Now, striving to avoid being consumed by the chaos—a struggle intensified when the mind still controls you. Proximity to self-destruction and toxicity makes the pursuit of consciousness a constant battle."

Following her intense performances at Copenhell and Mystic Festival, as well as tour dates with Yonaka, Mimi Barks is set to embark on her UK album release tour this October. The tour will kick off on October 8th in Manchester and include stops in Bristol, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Nottingham. Before the headline tour, she will also perform at the 2000trees Festival and Bloodstock Festival this summer.

Mimi Barks has made a significant impact in the music scene over the past few years, known for her relentless stage presence across the UK and Europe. She has performed at notable festivals such as Download, 2000trees, Graspop, and Full Force, and has toured with prominent acts like Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Combichrist, and Saint Agnes. Mimi graced the cover of Kerrang! Magazine after receiving ‘The Disrupter’ award at the Kerrang! Awards 2022. Her single "ASHES" premiered on BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter and appeared on the DEADGIRL Mixtape.
