Mouth Culture, the rising alt-rock trio from Leicester, have just announced their upcoming EP, Whatever The Weather, which will be released on 4 October via InVogue Records and to celebrate they have just dropped their latest single, "Everyday".
The new track, complete with a visually captivating music video, showcases a deeply personal and reflective side of the band as they delve into themes of mental health and everyday struggles.
"Everyday" has been described by the band as "the most personal and vulnerable song we have ever written." It highlights the entrapment of daily life, layered with a nostalgic shoegaze influence that brings a fresh dynamic to their sound. Vocalist Jack Voss shared that the track represents a more mature direction for Mouth Culture, offering a raw and honest perspective on the battles many face in their day-to-day lives.
In addition to the EP release, Mouth Culture has been making waves on the live scene. They were recently announced for the Slam Dunk Festival 2025 lineup and are set to support You Me At Six on their European tour later this year. The band has also confirmed a series of headline UK shows in November, marking their biggest gigs yet. Tickets are already on sale, and fans can expect an electrifying performance as the band brings their new music to the stage.
This release follows their successful EP Mishaps of My Mid Twenties, which struck a chord with a generation dealing with the pressures of adulthood, amassing over a million streams. Now, Whatever The Weather signals a new era for the band, embracing positivity and live energy in a way that reflects the growth and success they’ve experienced.
As bassist Todd Groome explains:
"When we were writing, we were picturing how it would feel to play it live. And having so much excitement and positivity around us brought us to a place where we wanted to showcase everything good about what was finally happening for us."
Musically, the new EP takes Mouth Culture's signature blend of alt-rock, indie, and grunge to new heights. Drawing inspiration from British rock icons like Lower Than Atlantis and You Me At Six, the band adds a fresh twist by infusing their sound with elements of nu-metal aggression, bubblegum pop, and indie earnestness. This eclectic approach ensures there’s something for every listener, and the band is eager to explore new sonic territories.
"We want to try everything," Todd says. "You don't know if something might work until you've tried it, so now is the perfect time in our journey to test it out."
