The Nightmares release new single "Something In The Dark"

The Nightmares, the Newport Noir pop quintet, have returned with their latest single "Something In The Dark", out now via Venn Records.

The new release is an anthem dedicated to outsiders, misfits, and nonconformists and is the band's first of the year, setting the stage for a summer filled with live performances and festival appearances.

Talking about the track vocalist and guitarist Adam Parslow said:

"'Something In The Dark' is a song for the outsiders, a song for those who don’t fit in - the misfits, weirdos and the nonconformists."

The narrative follows a young woman named Blue who experiences an inexplicable event, leaving her speechless and forever changed. The song draws influences from iconic artists such as Gary Numan, Killing Joke, and Heavens, while the music video pays homage to cult 90s television series like The X-Files and Twin Peaks.

The Nightmares are embarking on a new chapter with "Something In The Dark," ready to share their new wave sound with audiences across the UK and beyond. They kick off their summer tour with a performance at the 2000trees festival in July, among other dates.

Formed in 2019, The Nightmares self-released their debut EP, introducing their unique blend of dark and light, reminiscent of The Cure while drawing from bands like Interpol, Bright Eyes, Placebo, AFI, and New Order. Their debut album Séance, released last year via Venn Records (UK) and Equal Vision Records (US), solidified their status in the UK's alt underground. The album featured guest appearances from Will Gould of Creeper, and received acclaim from and and critics alike
