Been Stellar share new single "Sweet"

New York's Been Stellar are gearing up for their debut album, Scream from New York, NY, out on June 14th via Dirty Hit with the release of their latest single "Sweet."

Described as a nihilistic anthem, "Sweet" navigates the realms of dream pop and rough-hewn rock, showcasing the band's signature frenetic rhythms and cutting-edge sound.

Vocalist Sam Slocum shares insights into the song's inspiration, stating:

"We were all intrigued by the simplicity of the verse, it felt like something we would usually shy away from. I really tried to let the music inform the lyrics, and to not overthink what was coming from the song’s natural feeling."

Following the success of lead single "Passing Judgment" and the dynamic track "All In One," Sweet promises to captivate audiences with its raw energy and poignant lyricism. Been Stellar's European tour supporting The 1975 has been met with acclaim, and they're set to resume touring on May 4th, with appearances at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, GA, and a UK tour, culminating in their debut at Lollapalooza.

Produced in collaboration with Dan Carey (black midi, Wet Leg), Scream from New York, NY is a testament to the band's relentless pursuit of sonic innovation. The album delves into the complexities of modern life, capturing the essence of New York City with vivid detail and unflinching honesty.

Been Stellar's journey from their Michigan roots to the bustling streets of New York is a testament to their resilience and determination. Fueled by a shared sense of humour and a passion for music, the band has carved out their own path in the city's dynamic music scene, defying expectations and pushing boundaries along the way.
