Cultdreams give us the first taste of their album ‘Love Won’t Let Me Go & Death Consumes Me’ with new single “Want It More”

Cultdreams, the shoegaze punk duo known for their raw sound, have unveiled a bold sonic evolution with their latest single, "Want It More." The track, out now, is the first taste of their upcoming album Love Won’t Let Me Go & Death Consumes Me, which drops on digital platforms on 15 November via Big Scary Monsters.

Breaking away from their usual guitar-and-drums setup, Cultdreams introduce atmospheric synths and electronic drums, signalling a fresh chapter in their musical journey.

Vocalist Lucinda Livingstone says:

“The song is about being held back by people and things in your life that don't serve you anymore. You've become detached from someone or something and it doesn't feel the same. You feel like you're in a different place, and you have to let go of those people or environments in order to move on. It's triumphant but also just a big serving of getting real with yourself and setting better boundaries.”

"Want It More" is a glimpse into the new pop-influenced direction of Side A of their forthcoming album, though the band hints that the darker themes fans love still remain.

Talking about the light side of the record Livingstone said:

“The light side of the record was so fun to write from the POV of Cultdreams writing a pop record, and at first I thought the whole thing was going to be a pop Record, but then our usual fashion the darkness reared its head and felt like some of the rawest most interesting songs that had come out.”
