Split Dog rev up the hype for their debut album ‘Here to Destroy’ with new single "Monster Truck"

Bristol’s own Split Dogs are back with a vengeance, dropping their latest single “Monster Truck” ahead of their upcoming debut album Here to Destroy, set for release on 28 February 2025, via Venn Records. With a sound that’s equal parts punk ferocity and rock ‘n’ roll swagger, the quartet is here to prove that guitar music is far from dead—and they’re not pulling any punches.

Led by vocalist Harry Atkins and guitarist Mil Martinez, Split Dogs have made a name for themselves with their raucous live shows and unapologetic attitude. Their mission? Bring raw, visceral rock ‘n’ roll back to the forefront. “Monster Truck” is the latest example of the band’s no-frills approach, bursting with gritty riffs, pounding drums, and Atkins’ fiercely commanding vocals. “It’s about lessons learned, seeing it coming, but you keep on trucking,” says Martinez of the track, which captures the relentless energy that has become Split Dogs’ signature.

For the accompanying music video, Split Dogs went big—literally. Enlisting the help of Big Pete Ltd, the UK’s most successful monster truck team, the video features roaring engines and massive trucks tearing through the dirt, a fitting backdrop for the song’s giant riffs and rebellious spirit.

Speaking about working with Big Pete Martinez said:

“It was a no-brainer that we had to find the best Monster Truck team in the UK for this. “Big rigs, big riffs, big moves—time to grab your gear stick and get your mind out of the dirt!”

Split Dogs’ debut album, Here to Destroy, was recorded in just three days at Middle Farm Studios with producer Peter Miles. Eschewing modern production techniques in favor of a raw, live-in-the-studio feel, the band laid everything down on 16-track reel-to-reel tape—no autotune, no computers, just pure rock ‘n’ roll energy. “We wanted to capture the essence of what we’re about,” explains Martinez. “This record is who we are—loud, fast, and unapologetic.”

The album promises to be a sonic assault that stays true to the band’s ethos. Born from the frustration of seeing music become increasingly commodified, Split Dogs aim to remind us of rock’s primal power.

With Atkins saying:

“We’re not here to sell you a lifestyle, we’re here to destroy.”

With their blistering live shows and a lineup that now includes bass player Suez Boyle and drummer Chris Hugall, Split Dogs have quickly gained a following, both in their hometown of Bristol and beyond. They’ve played sold-out gigs across Europe and shared stages with punk legends, all while staying true to their DIY roots.

As the release of Here to Destroy approaches, Split Dogs show no signs of slowing down. The album is set to be a full-throttle celebration of everything rock ‘n’ roll stands for—rebellion, energy, and, most importantly, fun. “We don’t want to get famous on social media,” says Atkins. “We just want to show the world that rock ‘n’ roll is alive and well.”
