Divide and Dissolve sign to Bella Union and share new single “Monolithic”

Instrumental doom mental act Divide and Dissolve (D//D) have officially signed to Bella Union, launching this new chapter with the release of their powerful single, “Monolithic”. The single arrives as the band embarks on a North American tour, with a new album set for release in 2025.

“Monolithic” is more than just a song; it’s a call for liberation, Black empowerment, and Indigenous sovereignty. Reflecting on the single, Takiaya Reed says:

“This song is hope for the seemingly impossible and for things that have never been seen or experienced in many lifetimes.”

The track is a striking blend of heavy, dissonant guitars, percussion, and orchestral beauty, creating an atmosphere that honors ancestors and opposes white supremacy. The sound is as emotionally weighty as its themes, delivering a mix of resistance and hope.

Having released four full-length albums to date, including the critically acclaimed Gas Lit and Systemic, Divide and Dissolve continue to push boundaries with their unique sound. Their music serves as an acknowledgment of the ongoing impact of colonial violence, while also offering a vision of a better future. With past works remixed by artists like Moor Mother and Chelsea Wolfe, the duo is set to break new ground with their Bella Union debut.

Fans can catch Divide and Dissolve live as they support Systemic one final time across North America. The tour spans from Houston, TX on September 12 to Atlanta, GA on October 18, before concluding in New Orleans, LA on October 19. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience one of the most thought-provoking live acts in the alt-metal scene.
